Riverfront Place Condo Sales Surging

May 28, 2010

The downtown condominium market in Omaha is going strong and construction is taking shape on the second tower at Riverfront Place.

With more than half its units already sold, the project is catching the eye of real estate experts.

Project managers gave KETV NewsWatch 7 a look at the project, which they said was right on schedule.

“This is a very unique project, all concrete,” said Brad Govig of Boyd Jones Construction.

Developers said workers still have nine floors and more than a year’s worth of work yet to go.

“What we’ve found is that, now that we are going up, folks are starting to see that it’s their last chance to get in,” said Ben Proctor of Riverfront Place.

Officials said they’ve already sold 29 of the 51 units planned for the building.

“It’s more of an asset buy when folks really see this,” Proctor said.

He said residents will see a view of the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, TD Ameritrade Park and the downtown Omaha skyline. Future amenities, like a base for a gardening area are just starting to pop up.

When finished in fall 2011, the project will stretch about 200 feet above the Missouri River.

“I think from the activity downtown, it’s been solid,” said real estate expert Shawn Ilg. “A lot of people are positive.”

Ilg said that downtown condo sales are already up substantially over last year.

There is a chance Saturday to tour many of the new condos and homes downtown. The list of locations and times can be found here: Downtown Omaha Living.Tower II Construction May 2010
